Metro to Barcelona airport

L9 Sud links terminals T1 and T2 with the city: stations, timetables, which ticket is valid and how to continue into the centre.

L9 Sud, the airport line

L9 Sud has 15 stations between Aeroport T1 and Zona Universitària, stopping at Aeroport T2. It is a fully automatic, driverless line, and the two airport stations opened on 12 February 2016. From Aeroport T1 to Zona Universitària the train takes about 25 minutes. L9 Sud does not go to Catalunya: to get there you need to change, for example taking Line 9 Sud to Torrassa and Line 1 to Catalunya, about 36 minutes not counting waiting time.

Which ticket is valid at the airport

At Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 the T-casual, T-grup, T-familiar, T-escolar and single ticket are not valid. You need the airport ticket, at €5.90, or a ticket that covers those stations: the T-usual, the T-jove, the T-dia (one outward and one return trip to the airport at most) or the Hola Barcelona Travel Card (outward and return). The rest of the L9 Sud stations, from Mas Blau to Zona Universitària, are ordinary zone 1 stations. All prices are on the Fares page.
