Zona Universitària is the terminus of Line 3 and Line 9 Sud.

Zona Universitària has been a terminus of Line 3 since it opened on 19 January 1975, although at first it belonged to Line IIIB, because differences in voltage meant the whole line could not be run as one. It was then called Zona Universitaria, without the accent, and in 1982, when lines and station names were reorganised, the name was given its Catalan form.

On 12 February 2016 the southern section of Line 9 Sud arrived, and it too ends here. Line 10 Sud, on the other hand, does not: it stops at Collblanc, because there is only a single track between the two stations. The station lies beneath the Avinguda Diagonal, between González Tablas and Doctor Marañón, in Les Corts.

Frequently asked questions

There is only one track between Collblanc and Zona Universitària, so L10 Sud ends at Collblanc. L9 Sud, however, has come here since 2016 and has its terminus at this station.

The line the station opened on in 1975. Differences in electrical voltage made it impossible to run the whole of today’s L3 as one line, so this section operated separately. In 1982 it became part of Line 3.
