How the planner works out your route
The planner knows the 15 TMB and FGC lines and the scheduled travel time between every pair of adjacent stations. It looks for the fastest combination and adds the minimum change time that TMB sets in its timetable for each station; where TMB does not publish one (at stations shared with FGC, for example) it allows 4 minutes, and 5 for the walkways between stations with different names (Av. Carrilet–L’Hospitalet Av. Carrilet, Ciutat de la Justícia–Ildefons Cerdà and Diagonal–Provença), whose walking time nobody publishes.
It is a frequency-based planner, not a train-by-train timetable: for each line, day type and hour it uses how many trains per hour TMB and FGC schedule, and counts half the interval as waiting time. The arrival time is therefore an estimate. It knows that the TMB lines run all night from Saturday to Sunday and the FGC lines do not, and it allows for the walkways closed for works that TMB had announced when this page was generated, but not for live disruption: check tmb.cat and fgc.cat before you travel.
