While it was still on the drawing board the station was called first “Terminal actual” (the current terminal) and then “Terminal Nord”; by the time it opened, on 12 February 2016 together with Line 9 Sud, it had become Aeroport T2. It is located in Terminal 2 of Barcelona-El Prat airport and has lifts and escalators.

This is the airport station with a rail connection: from here you can reach the Rodalies R2 Nord line (the commuter rail network) at El Prat Aeroport station. Trains on L2 were also meant to run through the same tunnel, giving a direct link to central Barcelona, but the project was shelved indefinitely in 2013 because of the economic situation. On the line it sits between Aeroport T1, the terminus, and Mas BlauES.
