Liceu metro station

Liceu station
Liceu opened on 4 July 1925 as Liceo, part of the first extension of the Gran Metro de Barcelona, beneath La Rambla. With the renumbering of 1982 it became part of Line 3 and took the Catalan form of its name, Liceu. Renovation works on the station were completed in the summer of 2008.
Its most unusual feature is that no passage links the two platforms. To switch platforms you have to go out through the ticket gates, up to the street, in through the entrance next door and validate your ticket again. That is why the entrances come in pairs: two are called La Rambla / Teatre Liceu and the other two La Rambla / Mercat de la Boqueria. TMB classes it as accessible.
