Av. Tibidabo is the terminus of Line 7.

The railway station opened on 30 December 1953 as the end of a branch of the Sarrià railway that left the main line at Gràcia and ran beneath Carrer de Balmes. The branch had already appeared in the 1933 railway links plan (Plan de Enlaces Ferroviarios), with four new stations — Plaza Molina, Pàdua, El Putxet and Avenida Tibidabo — and a route of 1,860 metres. After passing to FEVE in 1977 and to FGC in 1979, the service became part of the Metro del Vallès brand in 1996 as the brown U7, and in 2003 it took metro numbering as L7, of which Av. Tibidabo is the terminus.

It has a single entrance, in the middle of Plaça de John F. Kennedy, with stairs, an escalator and a lift up to an upper concourse with ticket machines, a customer service desk and ticket gates. From there you go down to track level, quite deep underground, by a long staircase or by four lifts. Below there is a single track with side platforms 66 metres long; they used to be 56, which limited the service to two-car trains. The station is at kilometre point 1.9 of the branch, 120 metres above sea level, and its neighbour on the line is El PutxetES.
