Lesseps opened on 30 December 1924 as the end of the first section of the Gran Metro de Barcelona, beneath Plaça de Lesseps, where the Carrer Gran de Gràcia comes out. In 1982, with the reorganisation of line numbers and station names, it became part of Line 3.

It was a terminus for decades: the line was not extended to MontbauES until 1985, and since then it has been an intermediate stop between FontanaES and Vallcarca. It has had a moment on screen, too: it appears in the Spanish film A tiro limpio (1963). Outside, signs point the way to Park Güell, a little over 1 km away. TMB classes it as accessible. Its two entrances are Plaça Lesseps and Septimània.
